Hand stitched by ME!

The other day me and the wife were at JoAnn's looking for her some crafting stuff when I came across this pattern for "Western" style shirts. It came with a shirt, frock coat and vest. I got to thinking that I could (with some minor pattern adjustments) use the shirt for my reenacting.

Then with the help of her handy dandy 50% off coupon I snagged this fabric to use for my first ever hand stitching of a shirt.

After a lot of work (2 weeks worth) here is what I was able to come up with.

When I finished this shirt I was pretty proud of myself. So I decided to try my hand at another fabric and here is my second shirt.

Both of these have been completely hand stitched by me with no help what so ever. Well I did call my mom for advice lol.

Hope to hear your comments!
Thanks for looking,
Tim

Camp Table

I wanted to make a table for my reenacting that gave the impression of being kinda old lookin. I used barn lumber that I gathered up on a old farm near my home. The table is probably not period correct but I needed it to serve a couple purposes.
The table top is not smooth. It has the sawmill grains still present and I did not trim off the edges to leave the rough look of the wood. My wife will probably claim it for her porch as a prim decoration. I think I'll rent it to her..LOL
The legs are cut to fit inside the box created under the table for convince of travel and storage. They are bolted on each end and at a angle to add the support you might need in the field.
The box is big enough to place a Coleman stove and other non period items. I take 2 boys with me and they like to drink hot chocolate and such You can fix a quick meal if you need to and be able to keep it out of sight from the visitors in camp.
The top is 52"x22", legs and table height are32", the box is 32"x16" I used a pair of chest hinges and a set of metal handles that I had laying around. I still need to make a hasp for the lid, I'm using a piece of hammered copper tubing and a couple bent period nails to attach.
